How’s your business doing?

Running a business comes with a different kind of pressure; work is not always consistent, income can change month to month, and you are responsible for your employees, winning jobs, and keeping things running day to day.

When things are going well, it’s great, but when they are not, stress can build quickly.

Don’t forget to check-in with your Business

The reality of running a business in our industry is managing constant change.

Whether that is planning for particularly quiet or busy periods, changes to regulations or tax submissions, or making big decisions about how sustainable things are long term.

Remember you aren’t alone in this.

You’re in good company.

Many electricians end up running their own business; statistics show there are around 50,000 electrical businesses in UK (Source). Often, electricians end up running a business, even if they never planned to at the start of their career.

Whilst there are many upsides to working for yourself, it can also be a challenge juggling the many aspects of the business, bringing with it a lot of stress and pressure.

The EIC is here to help you stay on the road.

Our aim is to give you access to the tools you need to keep yourself – and your business healthy – as well as provide direct support if it all gets too much.

You do not have to deal with everything on your own, and taking a step back to look at how your business is running is part of keeping it sustainable.

Don’t wait until you’re forced to stop

The earlier you act, the easier it is to deal with.

If something’s not going right, don’t wait to get a handle on it. Check in, take it seriously, and get support if you need it.
