Our commitment to supporting the wellbeing of individuals in the electrical industry extends to our “Wellbeing Talks” series. These informative and insightful sessions are conducted online, featuring a diverse array of speakers who delve into crucial topics ranging from mental health awareness to financial assistance.
Join us each month on the first Wednesday of every month at 12pm , when our expert speakers will offer invaluable information and unique insight. The speakers will be offering their personal experiences and practical strategies absolutely free to support the overall development and well-being of our industry

Real People, Real Issues: Money Edition
Becky Goddard-Hill is a UK-based author, children’s therapist and wellbeing specialist.
She blends her professional experience with practical parenting advice and creative activities aimed at supporting emotional health — especially for children and families with a focus on budgeting, real people with real issues.
Setting Boundaries with Those we Love
David’s primary focus is relationship counselling including Couples Counselling, communication issues, abuse and adverse childhood experiences.
He is vastly experienced in counselling both adults and adolescents in areas such as loneliness, difficulty with relationships, family issues, self- esteem.


Bereavement and Coping with Loss
In collaboration with Aching Arms, we will explore the profound impact grief has on our mental and emotional health, and share the importance of compassion, patience, and support.
Balancing Business and Wellbeing
We are joined by Malcom Duncan (Super Rod) and Mike Jones (Better Happy) to talk about how to balance your business or work with your wellbeing. Offering practical advice and tools on what your OK, Good, and Best life look like and looking at key areas of focus (Finance, Fun, Freedom, and Fulfilment).
Malcolm has been in the electrical industry for over 40 years and runs the very successful Super Rod. Mike left the forces and started his own business, but began to suffer from burnout and stress. He now helps individuals and businesses with leadership, management, and business training and is the author of ‘The Happy Business Revolution’, an Amazon best-seller.


Mental Health Awareness
With a deep commitment to promoting open conversations around mental health, EIC is working to empower individuals to prioritise their wellbeing and seek support without stigma.
This session, held in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, we will be joined by Julian Rathby, founder of Mental Health and Me 999 and a lived-experience speaker who shares his personal journey from crisis to recovery. Julian speaks openly about his 2016 breakdown and his experience with anxiety, crippling panic attacks, depression, addiction, and suicidal thoughts.
By creating space for these conversations, we aim to encourage a culture where people feel able to speak up, check in, and access support when it is needed most.
PRIDE month – A Personal Story
As someone with lived experience and a strong connection to the LGBTQ+ community as a gay man, Michael brings both personal insight and professional perspective to this conversation. He will share a story of identity, resilience, and why it matters to create environments where people genuinely feel safe, valued, and that they belong.
His journey into this work is deeply personal. After growing up with significant challenges, including time in the care system and a period in hospital during his teens due to mental health struggles, he learned early how vital support and acceptance can be.


Let’s Walk and Talk
MenWalkTalk is a UK charity that creates safe, supportive spaces for men to walk, talk and connect with others.
Simon will discuss how he got involved with the charity and how creating a safe space to talk can save lives.
He will talk about his personal circumstances and how people of all genders can help create a safe space to talk and be open about mental health.
Exploring Neurodiversity
Dr Rosie Gilderthorp is a Clinical Psychologist, coach and military spouse. Since founding Know Your Mind Consulting and Psychology Business School, she has moved house four times, solo parented three neurodivergent children, and somehow survived on coffee while juggling two businesses and completing an MBA from Warwick Business School. With 16 years of experience in the NHS, HM Prison Service, and private practice, Rosie is passionate about helping parents thrive through adversity.
Her research interest is in Hyperemesis Gravidarum, Neurodivergence and transforming health through innovation. She provides practical, free support for parents through her Know Your Mind newsletter on Substack and the Pregnant and Sick podcast.
When she’s not seeing clients, teaching, coaching other therapists, recording The Business of Psychology podcast, or running in the rain, she’s in her garden office in Tunbridge Wells, often interrupted by her two oversized cats.


Suicide Prevention – A Personal Story
Alice Hendy MBE is the founder and CEO of Ripple Suicide Prevention Charity, established following the loss of her brother Josh to suicide in 2020. After discovering he had been researching harmful content online, Alice was driven to ensure that anyone searching for information about self‑harm or suicide is met with help, not harm. Ripple is a digital tool that intercepts these searches and directs people to vital mental health support at their most vulnerable moments.
Now downloaded millions of times worldwide, Ripple is helping to save lives every day. A powerful and compassionate speaker, Alice shares her lived experience with organisations across sectors, addressing suicide prevention, mental health in the workplace and the importance of removing stigma, delivering talks that inspire understanding and meaningful action. Joined by her colleague uke Haseldine and the EIC Welfare team, this is sure to be a powerful Wellbeing Talk.
Menopause: Breaking the Taboo
Tanith Lee also known as “Mrs Menopause” is a nutritionist, UK based health coach and menopause specialist.
Her work covers physical, mental and emotional aspects: exercise, nutrition, coaching, and helping women to feel confident, vibrant and in control.
Her talk brings lived experience; her approach resonates with both empathy and expertise.
Working to break taboos around menopause.


Men’s Month – A Personal Story
In collaboration with Lighthouse Club:
We are dedicated to breaking the stigma surrounding men’s mental health, this talk focuses on encouraging honest conversations, self-care, and mutual support among men.
This Men’s Month session aims to challenge traditional narratives, highlight vulnerability as a strength, and promote healthier emotional wellbeing for all.
Understanding Addiction: Gambling Harms
Betknowmore UK is on a mission to address gambling harms in UK communities through the provision of award-winning gambling support and training services.
In this wellbeing talk, Betknowmore UK will share a lived experience perspective of gambling dependency, through to recovery and beyond.
They will also shine a light on how workplaces can play a crucial preventative and supportive role by placing gambling harms awareness on their health and wellbeing agenda.
