Gloves On for Good: Max Brandon’s Charity Boxing Match

Max Brandon from Edmundson Electrical Enfield is joining the fight to raise awareness for men’s mental health. He’ll be stepping into the boxing ring on March 14 for an epic charity boxing match that is not one to miss – and it’s all in support of the Electrical Industries Charity.

Paying it Forward

After receiving support from the EIC in recent months, Max explains that this boxing match is his way of giving back to the charity that helps so many in our industry.

“The EIC has helped me massively over the last few months. I knew about the EIC through Edmundson, but what I didn’t know was how quickly I’d get the help I needed. Within two weeks of contacting the EIC, I was already getting the help I needed.”

One Last Hurrah

Max has boxed for the last seven years, having fought in 15 fights and three national championships—so he’s no stranger to the boxing ring!

Max has been training this match four to five times a week since December, and he doesn’t show any sign of slowing down before the big match.

Max says he’s excited to get back in the ring one last time.

“I’m so used to being in the ring, and I love the buzz of the crowds. I’m quite a flashy fighter as well,” says Max.

This match, however, will be Max’s last, and he says it is not one to miss.

“I’m glad this is the last one, because it’ll be like a sendoff for the last seven years,” says Max.

“I wanted a reason to go back and do one more, and I thought this was the way to do it,” he adds.

Raising Money and Awareness for Men’s Mental Health

Max’s motivation for the big day is to raise money and awareness for mental health amongst men and young people.

“The EIC gives so much support, especially on the mental health side of things. I think especially for men and young people, it’s so important to encourage people to talk about feelings and express ourselves,” says Max.
