The Electrical Industries Charity offer a variety of training courses to suit your needs. Breaking down the stigma of mental health in our industry can only come through education and understanding and we are passionate about helping you with this.
Our training is based on what we see coming through in our cases and the challenges our industry is facing. All of our courses can be delivered in person or virtually, prices start from £650* and all of our training is delivered by our highly experienced welfare team and key partners.

Suicide First Aid Lite Training
Teaching the theory and practice of suicide intervention skills that can be applied in any professional or personal setting, captured in a half-day session.
Learning Objectives:
- Understanding suicide, suicide behaviours and causes
- Recognising signs
- Establishing communication techniques
- Implementing intervention

Suicide First Aid: Understanding Suicide Intervention
The Suicide First Aid: Understanding Suicide Intervention course is comprised of 4 parts, each approximately 90 minutes duration. The programme teaches and practices the skills and knowledge needed to identify someone who may be thinking about suicide and competently intervene to help create suicide-safety as a first aid approach.

- Understanding the foundations of suicide prevention
- Strategic approaches to suicide intervention
- Practical skills for supporting individuals
- Implementing intervention and ensuring safety in suicide prevention
Pre-training requirements:
No previous experience or training is necessary. Participants will be asked to self-reflect and empathise with a person having thoughts of suicide.

Mental Health First Aid
Suggested for team leaders, those in positions of high-volume interaction with colleagues and those who are keen to engage. Those who qualify as Mental Health First Aiders will join a support group facilitated by MHFA England and will join the national community of Mental Health First Aiders.

- Recognising poor mental health and implementing early intervention
- Encouraging identification and access to professional and local support
- Active listening and demonstrating empathy
- Addressing stigma and improving mental health literacy
- Self-care and MHFA role

Mental Health First Aid Refresher
For those who have previously engaged in Mental Health First Aid and wish to renew skillset (suggested: between 2-3 years post-qualification).

Managing Mental Health and Wellbeing in the Workplace for Leaders

Financial Wellbeing & Awareness Training in collaboration with Anna Gooch
Delivered in collaboration with Anna Gooch, this course builds confidence in money management, explores the connection between financial and mental health, and offers practical financial planning tools. A check list will be provided to you with a choice of key focuses, for example: pensions, budgeting or investing etc.
