Accelerating Action for Gender Equality – International Women’s Day 2025

Happy International Women’s Day (IWD) from all of us here at EIC!

International Women’s Day is a global celebration of the achievements and contributions of women across all fields. On March 8^th we come together to honour women’s progress in shaping societies, economies and industries. For 2025, IWD’s global campaign theme is #AccelerateAction: At the current pace, full gender parity won’t be reached until 2158, five generations from now according to the World Economic Forum. To close the gap faster, we must Accelerate Action, tackling systemic barriers and biases with urgency. Together, let’s drive change and create a more equal future.

At EIC, we are proud to be a female-led charity, championing gender equality within the electrical and energy industries. We recognise the importance of empowering women, breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for professional and personal growth. From leadership roles to mentorship initiatives, we are committed to ensuring that women in our industry have the support and resources they need to thrive.

Our Managing Director, Jess Vailima, shares her thoughts on this important day:
