In 2020 Bell Lighting, industry heroes and ongoing supporters of the Electrical Industries Charity, celebrated their centenary - that's 100 years of lighting up our sector! To celebrate their centenary Bell Lighting had joined forces with EIC to sponsor all events and feature at the prestigious powerBall 2020 hosted at the London Hilton on Park Lane. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing pandemic Bell Lighting's celebrations were scuppered and powerBall cancelled. While we have been unable to celebrate in our normal way we wanted to extend a special thank you and congratulations to Bell Lighting on their 100 years. 

To celebrate 100 years of being leaders within the lighting industry Bell Lighting planned for a bumper 2020 fundraising for both the Electrical Industries Charity and Cancer Research UK. They launched 'Getting Fit for 100' to raise £5,000 to support their chosen charities and planned to complete 15 challenges to secure donations. Alongside this Bell Lighting partnered with Electrical Industries Charity to provide pens and drawstring bags to all events for the 2020 calendar from golf days to lunches to balls. Bell Lighting's partnership with EIC to celebrate 100 years was to culminate in their VIP Drinks Reception Sponsorship at powerBall - 'A French Affaire'. Unfoturnately, the COVID-19 pandemic meant no events could go ahead and Bell Lighting had to cast aside plans to celebrate their 100 year birthday. 

Bell Lighting was founded 100 years ago, just one year after the first ever powerBall hosted at Grovesnor House. The company started manufacturing incandescent lamps and have since grown to become a leading manufacturer and supplier of quality lighting but are still family owned to this day. powerBall was founded in 1919 as a response to the Spanish Flu epidemic which killed 50 million worldwide. At the powerBall centenary celebrations hosted in 2019 at the London Hilton on Park Lane charity CEO and MD Tessa Ogle spoke of the impact the Spanish Flu epidemic had on the electrical and energy sector. 100 years later we face a new pandemic, COVID-19, which has completed altered our way of living and again has impacted our sector in different ways. As sponsors of the 2020 powerBall Bell Lighting have chosen to support the Electrical Industries Charity in assisting those in need in our sector and continue their sponsorship to 2021 which we can't thank them enough for. While their birthday celebrations have been put on hold due to the pandemic the Electrical Industries Charity wish to extend a huge happy birthday and thank you to Bell Lighting for their ongoing support.
