We're celebrating a record-breaking year, for the amount of financial grants that we were able to give to those who needed our help.
The Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) is proud to announce that 2022-2023 was a record-breaking year for grant giving, with a total of £584,000 (2,966 grants) awarded to individuals and families in need across the industry.
This significant achievement shows the EIC’s commitment to supporting those in the industry who are facing financial hardship or difficult circumstances. Through its various grants and support services, the EIC can provide much-needed assistance to those who need it most, including apprentices, retirees, and families of those working in the industry.
Commenting on the achievement, Tessa Ogle, CEO of EIC said: “We’re delighted to have been able to support so many individuals and families in the electrical industry this year. The grants we provide are often a lifeline for those who are struggling, we’re proud to be able to offer this support when it’s needed most.”
The EIC relies solely on fundraising and donations from across the industry, including manufacturers, wholesalers, contractors, and individuals. This enables the Charity to provide a range of support services, including financial assistance, counselling, and mental health support. Across 2022-2023, there was a noticeable increase in complex cases, illness, and injury, and supporting whole families. The cost-of-living crisis has led to an influx in cases coming through to the Charity and links with mental health support.
The record-breaking year of grant giving is a testament to the generosity of the industry and the dedication of the EIC team. As we move into the rest of 2023, the EIC remains committed to supporting those in the industry who need it most and continuing to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families across the sector.
A huge thank you to all that have fundraised or donated. Let’s continue to stand together as an industry to support our colleagues most in need.
